Bah-Humbug!
Tap....... Tap ........... Tap ............ Tap ........... Tap
I need HOT CHOCOLATE.......Extra-Extra-Extra whip cream, and double chocolate chip cookies.
last week i visited brummie land and it gave me a lot to think about, in particular my jw grandmother and here is why.
she was born in 1914 and was of the generation that was waiting for the new system to usher in paradise....she waited and waited .
she would have been around when all the bible students were waiting for 1925 to usher in the new system.
Brummie that was so sad.
My Granny became a witness two years before she got me to raise when I was 3. She had raised 8 living children, made a life with nothing, lived with an alcoholic husband who had a 3rd grade education and never worked. I have to say that being introduced to the WTBTS brought some much needed hope into her life. I hated every minute I had to be a witness (left when I was 18), but it brought her some peace and I could never take that away from her. She died 10 years ago, at 90, she died waiting......waiting.....waiting. Granted she didn't wait as long as others, but she had seen the other side and it had nothing to offer her either. That is truely an amazing generation, they lived in the time of awakening............going from horse drawn carriages to landing on the moon. We have seen the information highway, we will not be so easily fooled again. It's a whole new ball game for the boy's in Brooklyn, who have hid their heads (and everyone elses) they have not kept up (or have they?) I think with the coming of the new generation something will change, it has to.
i really hate jw hypocrisy.
i love my mom but i am sick and tired of the hypocrisy from her and my family.
last summer on august 10th a day before my sons 3rd birthday i recieved package from my jw family wrapped in cute gift paper.
Flower
I have to go with everyone else here. Seeing something as hypocritcal isn't easy to live with, I understand how you can see that. She loves her grandbaby and doesn't want her beliefs to deprive her of that. Encourage the relationship, she may find that losing that bond is stronger then the JW's. Everyone has thier price, and that might just be hers. Maybe it doesn't seem fair that she can except doing something for your son that she couldn't except from you.......but the door is open, let it stay that way. Just wink, smile and say "WHAT EVER". So your son gets NON-BIRTHDAY Birthday presents, or NON-CHRISTMAS Christmas presents. Be glad that your Mom finds your sons existance on this earth a precious as you do. I'm a Grandma, I was raised a witness so I know how they think and what they can do or can't. I think the Grandma is winning this battle in her head! But do (as Lew said) keep an eye out that she doesn't try to poison his mind. Put your foot down on that one, she may think that saving his life is the best gift she can give him, I don't think so though. Just my opinion
i went up to my daughters to kick off her old van for my grandaughter, the battery was dead, she had left the interior lights on.
i wasn't thinking properly, i let my car run for a while with the battery cables connected.
this is a no no with a gm car.
One of the best things my husband invested in (cost about $50) was one of those portable jumper things. You just hook it to the battery and you can start the car (or truck in his case) He has a small fleet of work trucks that take thier turns at having dead batteries. So much easier than jumping with another vehicle, can stand about 3 jumps before needing recharged. It also has a lighter outlet on it to run things that need a lighter. Pretty neat invention.
any ideas for good stocking stuffers?.
i have peppermints, chocolates, lottery holiday scratch-its, and a john wayne dvd (the searchers) for my husband.
any other ideas?.
Chapstick, even guys use it in the winter.

Okay, Okay............I have a confession to make (damn conscience). I don't have to go two miles up hill to my mailbox. It's on my front porch. It rarely gets to zero let alone -50 and I don't even have a dog. But I DO get SATURDAY Delivery. Could it be???????????????? I am a SHE.
it may be a little early for this, but i am kind of new to all these things.......... so what are your new year's resolutions??
here are mine: get fit, get organized, and to see some of my life goals acheived this year.
last year i dedicated the year to having some fun, giving myself time off since just leaving the borg.it was all good , but now i am ready to not just work on clearing my mind, but healing my body as well.
(Shuffling in papers) Let me see...........I know I have it here somewhere???????????
I save time and just recycle the same ones every year. But I keep trying.
